She received certification for completion of the training course for temporary judge work and sat on the bench of the LA Small Claims Courts as a Judge Pro Tem.

She attended Pitzer College where she studied business and sociology. She spent a portion of her law school education at the University of London studying international trade and finance and received her juris doctor degree from South- western Law School in Los Angeles.
